ReplyWelcome Pete, you have big shoes to fill. Bob did a great job for our community but I know that you will too! I look forward to working with you and adding posts from Community Matters, www.pattyebenson.org when appropriate.
As co-chair (with Marie Thibault) of the annual Paoli Blues Fest, thank you for including photos from 2012 with this post. We are well underway in the planning for the 5th Annual Paoli Blues Fest, October 5, 2013 and hope that we can count on support from TE Patch as we have in the past. And if there's anyone interested in joining the Blues Fest committee, please contact me at tredyffrincommunitymatters@gmail.com -- the festival committee is a great group of people that make working on this event fun!

Bob Byrnes, we won't forget. The residents of Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships have been all the better as a result of your presence the last couple of years. Always willing to look beyond the 'obvious' of a story, your reporting has been fair, well-balanced and much appreciated by your many readers. Good luck and best wishes in the new Patch assignment.

ReplyI am not aware of a RFP from TESD to hire a safety consultant. There is a School Board Finance Committee meeting tonight at 7 PM at the Administration Office; perhaps the consultant's contract will be addressed.

ReplyThanks Bob.
The 8th Annual Historic House Tour features 6 historic homes, 2 restored barns and the wonderful old Mt. Zion AME Church and Cemetery. Mt. Zion will have special reenactors on the battlefield along with an old fashioned bake sale with homemade goodies. The Host Sponsor, Willowbrook Farm, is one of the stops. Twice a Vassar Show House, the owner Meg Veno, has her scheduled her Fall Barn Sale around the House Tour. Meg is generously donating a portion of the sales to the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust -- clearly supporting historic preservation in the community!
A tour of unexpected surprises, you don't want to miss the 8th Annual Historic House Tour! Tomorrow's weather forecast ... a perfect historic house tour day, it never rains on House Tour day! Tickets available online -- www.tredyffrinhistory.org

ReplyIf you dare to have an opinion in Tredyffrin, I encourage you to attend this Board of Supervisors meeting and ... stay to the end. The tagline for Community Matters - Your Voice Matters ... Join the Conversation! I stand behind those words, believing that all of us have a right to question and have an opinion.

On the Blog Post Given Our Economic Times, How Can T/E Afford a Real Estate Purchase?
Pattye Benson
3:23 pm on Monday, August 27, 2012
ReplyGiven the fact that the District, like everywhere else, is suffering economically, I thought it important to bring the real estate purchase to people's attention. I understand that the maintenance/storage shed discussion has been going on for years ... but the 2012 economic climate is very different than a few years ago.
My point for writing the article was more about the process. Whether the District is over paying or under paying on the purchase price is not nearly as concerning to me as is the process. I found it somewhat troubling, given the economics of the District, that the real estate purchase was buried in a long list of items on a consent agenda.

The tag line for Community Matters, www.pattyebenson.org is "Your Voice Counts ... Join the Conversation". It is important to hear all views, even those that may differ from our own. And I support the right to express those opinions.

The folks of Phoenixville are lucky to have Bob Byrne as their Patch editor! As a Tredyffrin resident, we were fortunate to have Bob as the founder of TE Patch and he did a remarkable job! Bob cares about the community but more importantly takes the time to know the 'story behind the story' (which is often more interesting!)
Best wishes on the new job Bob but we miss you in Tredyffrin!
