ReplyWhen I said VIABLE, I did not mean only being on the ballot in 50 states. Viable means, strong, independent and supported by the people at large; being able to raise the millions of dollars that the two major parties raise each and every election so that he or she can have the same playing field as the two other candidates.
Until tha happens, what we will have are lightweight candidates who will receive 10% to 15% of the national vote and disrupt the election and sometimes causing the better candidate to lose the election. -

ReplyOpen presidential debates are a joke and will remain a big joke until and when the people fight for a Viable Third Political Party. And by that, I do not mean the likes of the TEA PARTY that was and remains, no more than a right-wing ultra conservative hand of the Republican Party.
A new political and independent from the current two-party system must be enacted in this country. Only then, will the people have a clear choice and then, you and I will see how the pressing issues of the day will be debated.
That day is here at hand because for too long the current two-party system has done an injustice to the American people especially those of us who get up every morning to go to work. -

ReplyAnthony Wayne, thank you ! I could not have said it better myself.
With the false belief that the government can take care of them, people are replacing LIBERTY with GLORIFIED SLAVERY.
Welcome to the new UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

ReplyWell said, Sharpie. This country needs informed, enlightened and intelligent voters if we are to exceed expectations.
We cannot have people who vote because of what they can get from this government.
Remember president Kennedy when he said, ". Ask, what you can do for your country, ask not, what your country can do for you.
As an immigrant, I never asked what this government could do for me. I just went to work and in my own little way, achieved a tiny piece of the American pie.
This is the America that I embraced more than 50 years ago. This is the America my grandfather embraced when he came here. and, this is the America that we should strive to have. Not the Obama's america where he wants to take my money and give it to those that constantly collect a check with no motivation, no hard work and no incentive to better themselves.
Remember Karl Marx whe he sais, "..religion is the opium of the people?" We cannot have a country where politics is the opium of the people. The voting population should be informed about the issues and the candidates, not blinded by their rhetoric and what the voter expect to get in return.
Again, Sharpie, well said., you really inspired me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

ReplyCatherine--I usually do not respond to comments but since you want me to read the Washington Post, I will say this, I do not have to read what the Washington Post has to say about this woman from Philadelphia.
I can only tell you that in today's world, there is (no reason) that a person can live without a bank account or a credit card. We are not talking about the Stone Age here. This is, 21st century America and people do have bank accounts and other forms of identification.
There is something wrong here and I am not going to venture to what it is for your benefit.
Again, stop whining and get an ID. I have multiple ID's and I am not an elitist. I am an Immigrant who has learned the American way and live proudly as an American. -

ReplyNo one is asking (aDelco Resident) Americans to change how to vote. We are only asking is to provide an ID. And, what is wrong with that, unless you have something to hide? Get serious, you are just nitpicking and acting hypercritical.

I am one of the 57% who watched the debate and yes, Paul Ryan not only won the debate, Ryan exudes class when he spoke to the american people unlike Biden who showed intolerance, arrogance and indifference.
