Ray Nudy says he's been telling people "two weeks" whenever they ask when the new Nudy's Cafe in Paoli would open. He's been saying that all summer, he jokes. Friday morning the wait will be over as the new Nudy's Cafe location opens at 7 a.m. across Lancaster Avenue from the Wawa in Paoli. This will be the seventh location for the popular Devon-based cafe chain. Nudy was among the crew scrubbing the floors and tables and putting the finishing touches on the breakfast and lunch cafe Thursday afternoon. A popular local cafe chain is on track for a big opening in July.
From custard shop to breakfast stop, the newest Nudy's Cafe is expected to open soon inside the former Jake's Custard location on Lancaster Ave. in Paoli. A spokeswoman for the Paoli VIllage Shoppes says the new cafe will have seating for 50 and is expected to open by mid-July. That is the same target date a Nudy's official gave Patch several months ago when the lease was signed for the new cafe. This will be the eighth Nudy's Cafe location, which includes seven restaurants in Chester County. The family-owned chain is headquartered in Devon. Tried the new Nudy's for breakfast today. As bob observes, it is essentially the same as the other Nudy's locations, including the one in Frazer we have come to love. Had the ham and cheese omelette, which was fluffy and made to perfection. The coffee was good also. Sadly, the home fries were lukewarm and the side of toast was downright cold.
