Olsen, DiBuonaventuro, Heaberg, and Kirk-Mayock win all four of the open BOS seats. One incumbent and two GOP newcomers win school board elections.
After a roller coaster vote count in the May primary and a special election, Tredyffrin Republicans were taking nothing for granted in Tuesday's general election. But as the votes started coming in, it was clear the Tredyffrin GOP had good reason to celebrate with a Grand Old (but low key) Party at Berwyn's Alfredo restaurant. Candidates and supporters of Tredyffrin Township's long-reigning party met to wait, count and ultimately, celebrate a big night of victories at the BYO restaurant, perhaps fitting for a political party that campaigned on a platform of conservative fiscal policies and no tax increases. Party loyalists, campaign workers, friends, family and media stood waiting as Tredyffrin’s Republican Chairman, Mike Broadhurst …
Volunteers, candidates, voters agree on one thing at the polls Tuesday.
After the polls closed at 8 p.m., but before the numbers could even start pouring in, there was consensus on at least one thing Tuesday. The weather for this November election was beautiful. Poll workers reported highs of about 35% of registered voters in the precincts came out to cast their ballots in Tredyffrin Township. And while it seemed that the turnout was steady there were few, if any voters who wanted to talk about the specifics of their candidate choices. Here's what Patch found during visits to several polling places during the course of the afternoon and evening: •At St. Matthews United Methodist Church Kris Graham, a Republican candidate who won her race for T/E School Board, was outside shaking hands and introducing herself …

Karen Cruickshank is ready to shout T/E’s plight from the rooftops, following the Tax Study Group's final public presentation.
The T/E School Board has been vocal and open about its budget woes over the past few months. But now, their battlecry is about to get much louder. After the findings of the Tax Study Group were released to the public and the pros and cons were carefully weighed, Board leaders know exactly what needs to happen next, and the legislators in Harrisburg are going to be hearing from T/E. The findings of the Tax Study Group gave the pros and cons of an Earned Income Tax(EIT). The district’s financial issues stem from one main place; the compound interest piling up because of the Pennsylvania Employees Retirement System, or PESRS, as it was explained to the board and the public in two presentations made on Thursday. “Back in 2001 the pension …

DiMeo Pizza offers a variety of Italian foods ranging from a delicious house made focaccia panini to a diet-busting order of ravioli.
Restaurant: DiMeo Pizza Address: 444 Swedesford Rd, Berwyn, PA 19312 Rating: ★★ out of 5 stars Style: Eat-In / Take-Out / Delivery Food: Italian Atmosphere: Pizza Parlor Service: Counter Service Price Range: $5 - $20 Parking: Lot Unique Feature: DiMeo’s menu offers a variety of gourmet pizza offerings and Italian inspired dishes, but it’s the Panini sandwich on house-made focaccia that stole the show. A busy night in town led me to DiMeo Pizza for dinner this past week. I parked in the near empty parking lot off of Swedesford Road and walked inside. One look around and it was pretty clear where my meal was going to go; DiMeo’s looked like a pizzeria, and smelled like a pizzeria. But its menu offerings went far beyond the cheesesteak …

A first grader was run over by an SUV in dark parking lot, airlifted to CHOP for emergency surgery.
You can drive right past the entrance to Teegarden Park on Cassat Road and easily miss it. Laid out under the PECO power lines between Cassat and Contention Road the park has a realtively low profile. You can't really see the football practice fields clearly from either road. But a recent accident at a Pop Warner football league practice has turned a bright spotlight on conditions in one of the two parking lots in the park. The one that's invisible from the road. It sits hundreds of yards back from Cassat, down a hill and during night practices the parking lot can be very dark. A six year old Valley Forge Elementary student was walking in the lot when he was hit and partially run over by a driver who could not see him in the twilight under…

I was there last night, it was anything but an "inviting environment" - the rudest receptionist I've ever encountered! General chaos and disorganization. Horrible! I'll never return   more ›
