Fire Destroys Devon Garage

The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages.

A fire in Devon early Sunday morning caused an estimated $30,000 in damages to a garage, reports Berwyn Fire Co. Two nearby cars were also damaged from the radiant heat from the fire, which took place in the 300 block of Old Lancaster Road in Easttown Township. The Chester County Fire Marshals Office investigated the cause of the blaze and determined it to be related to an electrical problem, according to the fire company. According to the fire company: Berwyn Assistant Chief Eamon Brazunas arrived on location with a 20' x 30' detached garage involved in fire. The crews of Engine 2-3 and Tower 2 began to contain the fire, while personnel from Paoli and Radnor assisted with extinguishment and overhaul operations. Newtown Square Ladder 41, …

Blinding Sun Show In Sky Over Devon

Mother nature puts on a blinding evening rush hour performance over Lancaster Avenue.

It's the time of year once again when cold, clear winter skies and the rotation of the earth can sometimes combine for a blinding westbound evening commute on westbound Lancaster Ave. This was how it looked a few minutes after 5 p.m. Wednesday for drivers heading past the Devon Horse Show grounds on Lancaster Ave./Route 30 in Devon. Wednesday's official sunset was at 5:27:55 according to Unitarium.com. Thursday's sunset will be at 5:29:07 p.m.. As the sunlit hours keep getting longer, the sun will to be right in the eyes of westbound evening commuters for at least a few more weeks. Is That Truck... Flying? Aerial Act in Devon

As crews worked high above Lancaster Ave., it's what you didn't see that caught Patch's attention.

As a cell phone crew worked in bucket trucks high above Lancaster Ave on Friday afternoon they drew the attention of a lot of motorists. The bent elbows of the bucket trucks stood out at the apex of the hill across the road from Devon Manor. But it wasn't until a curious photographer went down into the parking lot by the Devon bowling alley that a really interesting  photo emerged.  The truck holding the larger of the two cherry pickers appeared to be poised for take-off.

Teens Busted for Breaking Into Car

Two teenagers are arrested after neighbors call the cops.

Easttown police say two teenagers were arrested after neighbors called the cops in Easttown about items taken from a vehicle. According to police the 16 and 17 year old, whose names are not being released, were spotted in a vehicle in the 100 block of Berkley Road in Devon around 11 p.m. on December 28. According to police the juveniles were spotted in the car and fled on foot. They were located two blocks away and arrested. Police say they are from the area. They now faces charges as juveniles, including underage drinking.
