Magisterial District Judge Analisa Sondergaard of the Chesterbrook District Court presided over the process during the Tredyffrin Twp. Board of Supervisor’s Meeting in Keene Hall. Officer William Czaplicki, 28, most recently a corporal with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for over three years with specialties in Incident Command Systems, has an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Management and Planning. The teen faces felony charges, including rape of an unconscious victim.

Tredyffrin Police on Friday charged an Upper Darby man with rape and related offenses in connection with a sexual assault of a woman that occurred April 21 in the Chesterbrook section of the township. Ainsley Bonitto Jarrett Jr., 18, is in Chester County Prison after failing to post $75,000 cash bail. He faces seven felony charges, including rape of an unconscious victim. Jarrett is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Analisa Sondergaard on Friday morning.

The recognition for Brian Hughes, who investigated a series of thefts from elderly victims in 2012, comes from the Delaware Valley Association of Police Professionals.
Tredyffrin Police Detective Brian Hughes was recently honored with the Legion of Excellence Award for Chester County, which he received from the Delaware Valley Association of Police Professionals. Hughes is a 21-year member of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department. On April 4, at 4:03 p.m., police responded to a report of theft in Gateway Shopping Center. A manager at the Staples reported that $380 worth of Apple brand products were missing from the store. A similar theft of Apple products occurred in late March at the same location. The case is under investigation. Theft... On March 4, at 7:18 p.m., police responded to a report of missing iPhone on Colket Lane in Devon. With the victim's help and the use of one of the phone's apps, police were able to track the phone to an address. Police plan to charge a juvenile with the theft. …

Anyone with information about the man, who reportedly told a child to get into his van last week, is asked to call police.
Tredyffrin Police on Friday released a composite sketch of a man who residents say attempted to lure a child into a van in Strafford last week. According to the press release from Tredyffrin Police: Police report that the driver called to a child "and told him to get in the van." The vehicle drove away when the children walked away, according to police. The driver is described as being 40 to 50 years old with black short cropped hair with bangs and light-colored eyes. One of the children told police he spoke with an accent. On Monday at 7:51 a.m., police cited a 53-year-old woman for vandalism after she was observed pulling down her neighbor's fence on Kate's Glen in Paoli.
The incident reportedly happened Tuesday afternoon in the Deepdale neighborhood.
Tredyffrin Police are investigating a report that a man in a blue van attempted to lure children into the vehicle in the Deepdale section of Wayne this week. The van allegedly pulled into a driveway on Princeton Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday, and a man inside called children playing nearby to come over, according to Det. Todd Bereda. The man in the van is described as heavyset with dark hair, possibly speaking with an accent. He reportedly had plastic toys in the van. The make, model and tag of the van are unknown. Bereda said it's possible the incident was innocuous, but it could also be ominous.
