Donations are encouraged but not required to grab a bag and fill it with clothes at T&E Care's annual Kids Clothing Grab Bag.
Need some children's clothing and sneakers? Stop by St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, where T&E Care is running its Kids Clothing Grab Bag this weekend. The event is open to the entire community, and the organization explained the process in an email: Everyone will be given a bag upon arrival. Fill the bag with as much as you can. Get a 2nd or 3rd bag if desired! Donations are accepted. (We're thinking about $5/bag, more if you want, none if you can't!) The event runs Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church at 600 Walker Road in Wayne. "The quality of the clothes is fantastic yet again, and we have lots of good options," Sandi Gorman said. "We have lots of great …

T & E Care is an organization founded and dedicated to helping children and families who need an extra hand during (often) unexpected tough times in Tredyffrin and Easttown. The charity works with the Tredyffrin Easttown School District and other organizations within the greater community to identify and meet the needs of local families who may have fallen on hard times as a result of sudden employment or other events like divorce or death of a primary income earner. Back-to-school supply and holiday gift drives, as well as meeting individual needs identified by school counselors or community members are among the ways founder Sandi Gorman and a gorwing army of volunteers quietly help those in need throughout the year. In April T&E Care …

Hundreds of kids will have new tops, pants, dresses and shoes thanks to thousands of donations given to support T & E Care's first ever Kids' Grab Bag Clothing sales. Table after table of gently used clothes were available for shoppers Saturday at Saint Matthews United Methodist Church of Valley Forge. Sandi Gorman is T&E Care's Founder and the driving force behind the clothing drive and sale which offered local families the chance to stuff bags full of donated clothes for just $5. Everything from never-worn designer clothes to new and gently used shoes were donated for the sale. By the time the sale ended at 1 p.m. tables in the church's huge assembly room were still overflowing with donated clothes. Gorman tells TE Patch the clothes that…

John Hegarty is the kind of guy who'll do anything for anybody. So when he ran into medical problems last year, his many friends in the community wanted to pitch in to help a friend in need. Hegarty owns Hegarty Maintenance, and does work on condo units in Chesterbrook and around the area. Hegarty has diabetes and suffered an injury last year that led to an infection in his leg. The end result was that doctors had to amputate his leg from the knee down. He says the support he got from his friends on the police force was overwhelming. Hegarty tells Patch that Tredyffrin officers came by to visit and bring him meals as he recuperated from surgery last year in Devon Manor. Now he's back home where he lives with his 20 and 16-year-old sons. …
