Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in many Christian faiths. It's also a time when many Christians sacrifice or give something up as a way to honor Christ or remove barriers to knowing God. At Handel's Ice Cream in Berwyn they are taking a light hearted approach to their sign, but in these economic times the message may also be heart felt. It's undoubtedly a sentiment shared by other local businesses that offer treats or sweets that are often sacrificed for Lent. Are you planning to give up something for Lent? Take part in our TE Patch Poll and tell us more in the comments section.
