Stagehands Strike Does Not Affect People's Light

A Philadelphia-area chapter of a theater workers union has been on strike for more than a week, but it won't impact performances at People's Light and Theatre Company.

A stagehands strike that has disrupted theater operations in Philadelphia does not affect People's Light and Theatre Company (PLTC), a spokesman at the Malvern-based theater confirmed. The Winter's Tale, a play by William Shakespeare, is set to begin its run at PLTC on Jan. 31. None of the employees at PLTC are members of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local No. 8, which went on strike last week.  The Philadelphia Theater Company (PTC) has not been so fortunate.
