Police Investigate Reported Theft at Melmark

A suspect observed on a security camera was questioned in the case and says he saw something disturbing in the room where an iPad was reported missing.

On July 26 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Newtown police received a theft report from a complainant at the Melmark home on 2600 Wayland Road in Berwyn. According to the report, the complainant told police that sometime between 4 p.m. the day before and noon that day, someone had stolen an Apple iPad from the Melmark complex. According to the report, the iPad was kept in a secure room, although the cleaning crew did have access to the room. A cleaner was seen on video surveillance entering and exiting the room but not seen carrying or having possession of the missing iPad, according to the report. iThefts Have Police Looking for Eyewitnesses

Crime victims left without their expensive Apple devices in two Tredyffrin iThefts.

Tredyffrin police are investigating two separate thefts of popular "iDevices". In the first case a a shopper was had an iPad taken from a shelf inside a store in the 700 block of Lancaster Ave. in Strafford. Police say the victim had set the iPad on a shelf in order to look at merchandise. The crime was reported shortly after 2 p.m. on June 19. Police says the stolen iPad is worth about $450. In the second case Tredyffrin Police say an iPhone was stolen from a restaurant counter on Lancaster Avenue in Paoli. According to police, the iPhone was being used to play music for the restaurant's customers when it was taken from the counter shortly before 11 p.m. last Friday night (June 22).
