Former Carroll Athletic Director Sentenced
Francis Murphy was convicted on charges of having improper contact with a former Archbishop High School football player.
More than a year and a half after being arrested and charged with having improper contact with a former football player, Francis Murphy, 40 is being sent to state prison to serve a 5-23 month sentence. The formal charge as outlined by the Montgomery County (where Murphy was arrested) District Attorney was "Unlawful Contact or Communication with a Minor, Promoting Prostitution, Corruption of Minors, Attempted Corruption of Minors, and related offenses." Murphy was convicted of offering to become a boy's "sugar daddy" in return for helping the student retreive a pair of cleats the student left behind after leaving Archbishop Caroll High School in Radnor.
