Devon's Ferris Wheel Going Up

The start of the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair is just days away.

The Devon Horse Show & Country Fair opens its gates to the public this Thursday. Crews have been busy getting the showgrounds ready for the Main Line Memorial Day tradition. Sunday, country fair volunteers braved the constant mist to get their booths ready for the start of the show. The rides for the midway, including the ferris wheel are in the parking area and ready to be driven into the showgrounds and assembled this week. The show runs May 23 through June 2. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 3-12 and senior citizens. Children 2 and younger get in free. The fair benefits the Bryn Mawr Hospital. Related Posts:

Horse Show Makes Big Donation to Hospital

The Devon Horse Show announces how much it raised in 2012.

  The 2012 Devon Horse Show raised more than $400,000 dollars for Bryn Mawr Hospital. The horse show posted the details on its Facebook page with the following information: Devon Makes Annual Donation to Bryn Mawr Hospital On December 7, members of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair and Bryn Mawr Hospital communities gathered to celebrate another year of their unique and successful partnership. This year, the efforts of the volunteers of the 116th Devon Horse Show and Country Fair resulted in a donation of $403,000. "This donation represents thousands of man-hours and the deep commitment our volunteers have to our community and Bryn Mawr Hospital," noted Debbie Martin, 2012 Devon Country Fair Co-Chair. The first Devon Horse Show Fall Classic is now in the history books. In addition to free admission and parking, the first-ever Fall Classic edition of the Devon Horse Show raised money to support the foundation that keeps the grounds and operations running for the charity. Lots of Fun, Free Stuff To Do in TE & Radnor

This Sunday features some huge, free, and family-friendly events in TE and along the Upper Main Line.

Today is a big day for big, free events in both TE and nearby Wayne. Sunday is the final day of the Devon Fall Festival at the Devon Horse Show Grounds in Devon. Where: Devon Horse Show Grounds When: Saturday and Sunday Sept 15 and 16 beginning at 8 a.m. What: The Devon Horse Show adds a fall festival this year with equestrine events, a midway, vendors and food. And this event features free parking and free admission. (There is a charge for the kiddie rides). There's also a raffle for a 2 year lease on a new Ford Hybrid. It's a great way to get out and experience all the excitement of one of the nation's premiere horse shows in a relaxed, free weekend with something for the entire family to enjoy. Devon Horse Show Opens Fall Classic Show

All the fun and excitement of the annual Devon Horse Show, but you'll love the one thing this weekend doesn't have.

The Devon Horse Show is now open in Easttown. Do not adjust your calendar, you read that right. The Devon Horse Show Fall Classic opened Thursday at the Horse Show grounds on Lancaster Ave. in Devon. Several things set the Fall Classic apart from the annual Devon Horse Show in May. Among the biggest differences: The Fall Classic is free and had free parking. The Fall Classic includes shops in the show ground cottages (though not as many as in May) and a midway with rides for younger children.  There is also a live music stage. Saturday Night Stuff to Do in TE

From horses to Birdie to Beatles there's a lot going on right in TE this Saturday night.

Looking for something fun and different to do this beautiful Saturday night? Here are some ideas: The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair runs through Monday. Olympic hopefuls will be strutting their stuff Saturday afternoon and evening in hopes of winning a slot on the U.S. Equestrian Team. In addition to the equestrian events there is a an old fashioned country fair with kiddie rides and a midway. Former Beatles at main Line School of Rock: This free show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Main Line School of Rock and features a tribute to the fab four. Bye Bye Birdie at Footlighters Theater in Berwyn. This community theater production of classic broadway musical is full of fun and music the whole family will enjoy. Curtain time is 8 p.m.
