Eight Conestoga girls lacrosse players have been named to the Main Line Media News All Main Line 2012 team.
The competition is tough but these young women are too. Eight Conestoga High School girls lacrosse players have been named to the All Main Line Girls Lacrosse team as published by Main Line Media News. Seniors Sarah Priem and Emily Pillion were named to the first team, along with Pioneer Junior Meghan McGillis. Juniors Catie Smith and Blake Hamblett were named to the second team. Senior attacker Kelly Morrison; Junior Midfielders Mackenzie Orr, and sophomore midfielder Maggie Friel received honorable mentions for the All-Main Line team. New tourney photos of the 3-peat" for Conestoga High School's mens lacrosse team.
It wa a glorious post-graduation send off for 21 Conestoga High School seniors over the weekend as the school's men's lacrosse team took home the third state championship title in a row. Philly.com has a wrap-up of the championship game which the Conestoga Pioneeers won 10-7 over LaSalle at Hershey Park Stadium on Saturday. The Pioneers are having the kind of post season they write sports movies about.
Conestoga High School's girl's lacrosse team is having the kind of fairytale post season they write sports movies about. The lady Pioneers are celebrating their first-ever win in the PIAA state tournament after trouncing Great Valley High School 13-9 in the opening round of states Wednesday night in West Chester. It was Conestoga's second post-season win over Great Valley in two weeks. The Pioneers knocked then-undefeated Great Valley out of the quarter-final round of the District Championship playoffs. Great Valley was a heavy favorite back then. Conestoga women's lacrosse team finished the regular season in sixth place in the Central League. That was then. This is now. The Pioneers shut down Hempfield in opening round of the PIAA Stat Tournament.
The Conestoga High School 2012 Boys Lacrosse team juggernaut rolls on with a first round victory Wednesday night in the PIAA State Tournament. The District 1 Champion Conestoga team shut down Hempfield 9-4 in a Wednesday night game at WC Henderson. The Pioneers now move on to the quarter final round. Conestoga will take on Carlisle Saturday in the quarter final round of the state tournament to be played at Exeter Township High School. Game time is still to be determined. The Pioneers were 15-3 on the regular season before shutting down all opponents in teh District 1 play-offs. Click here for a recap of the team's 2012 season record to date. See what caught the attention of an NFL Superbowl Champion.
Conestoga High School Graduate, Berwyn native, and 2012 Superbowl Champion Mark Herzlich knows a thing or two about good sports events. So when he tweeted about Conestoga Laccrosse being featured on a hilarious highlight reel, it caught my attention. Herzlich's tweet links to a 2012 Lax season highlight reel that includes lots of footage of his old team, the Conestoga Pioneers. Click on the video and count the original catch phrases and kitschy corn as they come flying by.
