Theives Target More Cars in Tredyffrin

Two cars are robbed in different neighborhoods and a third is stolen from one of the busiest parking lots in TE.

Tredyffrin Township Police are investigating two cases of theft from vehicles and a case of stolen car from a busy SEPTA Regional Rail station parking lot. Two Cases of Thefts from Autos. In the first case a car was broken into on August 28th on Sycamore Court in Paoli. According to police "the vehicle was entered by unknown actor(s) sometime overnight. Missing was a change purse containing coins, a ring valued at $50.00 and sunglasses. The vehicle was unlocked" In the second case, thieves struck on in the early morning hours of August 29 in the 100 block of Homestead Road in Wayne. According to police, "the victim called to report that their iPod was stolen from their vehicle sometime overnight." Motor Vehicle Stolen Back on September 2 …

Philly Area Scores Well in Car Thefts Report, Insurance Group Says

Philadelphia area not in top 100 most likely places to steal a car.

Residents may feel their cars could get stolen in Philadelphia, but apparently, 110 metropolitan areas nationwide are worse.  In an annual report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau analyzing auto thefts, the Philadelphia area ranked as the 111th top hot spot for stolen cars throughout the United States. With 13,171 thefts reported in 2011, the Philadelphia metropolitan area, which included Camden, N.J., scored very well. The NICB provided that caveat that "an area with a much smaller population and a moderate number of thefts can—and often does—have a higher theft rate than an area with a much more significant vehicle theft problem and a larger population to absorb it." More Car Robbery in Tredyffrin Twp.

Thieves hit the same car twice in one week.

Tredyffrin Township police are investigating a vehicle robbery that happened Sunday Night (March 25) in the 200 block of Old Eagle School Road in Wayne. According to police, the victim reported an HP laptop was taken from the car sometime in the overnight hours. Police say that an iPad and a roll of quarters had been taken from the same vehicle earlier in the week. These are just the latest in a series of recent car robberies in Tredyffrin and Easttown. Easttown police say valuables were taken from three cars and a forth vehicle was rifled in the overnight hours Sunday night into Monday morning. Sunday Night Crime Spree In One Easttown Area

Police say victims all had one thing in common.

Easttown Police are investigating a series of robberies in one neighborhood that all had one thing in common. And now police have a simple warning for area residents. Police say four unlocked cars were rifled through in the overnight hours of Sunday into Monday, March 26 at homes on Millbrook, Grantham, and Fox Creek Roads in Easttown. Thieves took "golf clubs and assorted items" from one vehicle, A GPS and sunglasses from another vehicle, A GPS unit from a third and nothing from a fourth vehicle that was rifled. Police say the number one piece of advice they can offer residents is to lock their vehicles, even when parked in your driveway. "Please write it in bold, and highlighted," Easttown Detective Lt.
