Car Erupts in Flames in Chesterbrook

Scary moments as a gasoline line erupts while firefighters work to put out a car fire.

No one was injured, but Chesterbrook Boulevard had to be shut down for about 45 minutes at Valley Forge Road Saturday evening when a car fire erupted in a ball of flames in Chesterbrook. According to a report on the Berwyn Fire Company website, a gas line underneath the car ruptured as firefighters were working to extinguish flames in the engine compartment. The fire was reported at 6:47 p.m. and the scene was cleared and Chesterbrook Blvd. was re-opened by 7:30 p.m.. Full details of the incident are available on the Berwyn Fire Company's website.

Berwyn Fire Co.To Set Car, House Ablaze

When it comes to fire, these first responders are not playing around.

When it comes to fire, the Berwyn Fire Company is not playing with fire. They're using it to demonstrate the dangers many everyday items and activites can pose if you don't know what to watch out for. To make the point, the fire company will host an open house Saturday afternoon from 3-5:30 p.m.. The events include live fire demonstrations with a car, kitchen and model house being set on fire. The open house is part of the National Fire Safety activities going on in communities all over the country this month. New Details in Tredyffrin Police Car Fire

A Tredyffrin Township Police officer escapes moments before a fiery explosion sends her car's trunk flying 50 feet into the air.

A fiery explosion blew apart a Tredyffrin Police Dpeartment patrol vehicle Saturday afternoon in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin, blowing the trunk, glass and metal 50 feet into the air. Tredyffrin Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo tells TE Patch a police woman was on patrol at the intersection of Country Gate Dr. and Gate View Dr. when she smelled smoke coming from the rear of the 2011 Dodge Charger.  The officer, who the police chief declined to identify by name to preserve her privacy, got out of the vehicle and called for help. Tredyffrin Police Patrol Car Erupts in Flames

The Dodge Charger was consumed by flames on a Berwyn street over the weekend.

Tredyffrin Police are expected to shed new light on what caused a Dodge Charge patrol car to erupt in flames Saturday in Berwyn. According to Berwyn Fire Company sources, no one was injured in the blaze that erupted inside the four door marked patrol car. Main Line Media News ran a photo of the burning car taken by a resident on the street. The car caught fire shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday on County gate Road in Berwyn. While the cause of the blaze is still under investigation by police and the Chester County Fire Marshal, there have been other Dodge Charge Police vehicles consumed by fire around the country in recent years. Fiery Crash Sends Two TT Men to Hospital

Two Wayne men are air lifted to the emergency room after a fiery crash on Upper Gulph Road that was caught on video by a neighbor.

Two Wayne men are air lifted to the emergency room after a fiery crash early Wednesday morning on Upper Gulph Road in Wayne, Tredyffrin Township. The one car crash happened when the driver of a 2005 Mercedes lost control of the car on Upper Gulph Road at Fletcher Road by St. David's Golf Course in Tredyffrin Township shortly after midnight.  According to police, the car burst into flames when it hit the tree. Berwyn Fire Company says one man was ejected from the car and the second was able to get out.  Police say both men suffered serious injuries to their legs.
