Patch Readers Help Save Paoli Pizza Hut

In a dramatic and sudden turn around Pizza Hut in Paoli Village Shoppes stays open-thanks to you.

The Pizza Hut in Paoli Village Shoppes is staying open thanks in large measure to Patch Readers. Paoli Pizza Hut General Mnager tells TEPatch the store got an 11th hour save from the Pizza Hut national franchise after customers and people who read the articles about the closing Thursday morning on TE Patch. The store had been asking customers to return their customer satisfcation surveys in order to show the people at Pizza Hut headquarters how popular the carr out and deliver location has been for years and years. Camera Hero Rides Yellow Car, Not White Horse

New company rides in to keep former Ritz Camera location open as a new camera shop.

Paoli camera enthusiasts got a hero Wednesday. Claire Schweitzer doesn't wear a suit of armor. Wednesday she was dressed in jeans and a blue Cardinal Camera collared shirt. She doesn't ride a big white horse. She drives a little yellow sedan that's wrapped in the Cardinal Camera logo. She's not a corporate raider. In the case of the Paoli Ritz Camera store location, she's more like a corporate savior. New Owner for ANRO Site is Now Official

Plans are now moving ahead for new business to go in on the site on Lancaster Avenue in Devon.

Easttown Township officials are confirming that a new car dealership will be coming to Lancaster Avenue on the site that was formerly home to ANRO Printing. Y.B.H. Audi has purchased the site and plans to move its Audi dealership from West Chester Pike/Route 3 in Edgemont to the property in Devon.  Easttown Township Supervisor Marc Heppe told members of the Berwyn Devon Business Association on Monday Night that Y.B.H. plans to raze the main building on the property to make way for the dealership.  Heppe told the association members that the auto dealer plans to keep the currently empty bank building on the west end of the property and lease it out to another bank. Vanguard Health Fund Manager to Retire

He has managed the $22billion investment fund for 28 years.

Edwards Ownes, the long time Portfolio Manager of Tredyffrin-based Vanguard's Health Care Fund says he will retire at the end of the year. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon in a press release from Vanguard. Mr. Owens, a senior vice president and partner of Wellington Management Company LLP, has managed the Health Care Fund since its inception in 1984 and is Vanguard’s longest-tenured external portfolio manager. The fund is the largest fund in the global health/biotech category with $22.4 billion in assets and the second largest sector fund in the mutual fund industry behind the $27.3 billion Vanguard REIT Index Fund (source: Lipper Inc.). New Paoli Nudy's Set to Open Friday Morning

The surprising thing owner Ray Nudy has been telling everyone about the long-anticipated opening day.

Ray Nudy says he's been telling people "two weeks" whenever they ask when the new Nudy's Cafe in Paoli would open.  He's been saying that all summer, he jokes. Friday morning the wait will be over as the new Nudy's Cafe location opens at 7 a.m. across Lancaster Avenue from the Wawa in Paoli.  This will be the seventh location for the popular Devon-based cafe chain. Nudy was among the crew scrubbing the floors and tables and putting the finishing touches on the breakfast and lunch cafe Thursday afternoon. The new Nudy's will be open weekdays 7 am-4 p.m. and Weekends 7 a.m.- 3p.m. He says there is seating for about fifty at tables and a counter seating area inside the building which was most recently the home of Jake's Frozen Custard which …

Possible New Business for ANRO Site in Devon

It's a long way from a done deal but one company has shown some interest.

It is one of the larger vacant properties that front Lancaster Avenue in TE. The ANRO site, just West of Waterloo Road in Easttown Township is prime property and could one day be home to a car dealership. Easttown officials tell TE Patch that there have been very preliminary inquiries about the site from Y.B.H. Automotive which is looking into the possibility of an Audi Dealership for the site. There's been nothing formal, but there have been some inquiried about potential zoming and development issues that might be involved with putting a car dealership in that location, which is adjacent to Euro Motorcars Mercedes/Smart car and across the street from Masserati of the Main Line.
