Local Vets Celebrate a Year of Service

Community and business leaders take a break to celebrate.

Members of the Berwyn Veterans Association celebrated the organization and a year of service to veterans and their families in the community Wednesday night at EmJ's Cafe in Berwyn. Among the group's most visible projects around TE are the Berwyn Veteran's Memorial at the Berwyn Train Station and the garrison flag and garden area in Wilson Farm Park. They are also one of the key community groups behind Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July Celebrations. In 2012 the Berwyn Veterans Association awarded two $5,000 awards to severly wounded hometown veterans. Details of those awards can be seen in the press release attaced to this article as a pdf file. This is an amazing group of dedicated citizens who not only risked their lives for their country but who continue to serve the TE community in support of their fellow vets and the community at large.
