Last Week for Detours on 252 at Route 30

Work on a new water Aqua Pennsylvania main installation is supposed to be completed by Friday.

Two months worth of daytime road closures and detours are scheduled to end on Friday as Aqua Pennsylvania wraps up work on a new water main underneath Route 252/Leopard Road between Route 30/Lancaster Ave and Darby Road in Paoli. The work began back on October 17, closing 252 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. most weekdays since. PennDOT only permits work on the road in in non-rush hour times. On Friday crews were still working two hours past 3 p.m. but the road was opened to traffic soon after 3.  There were some lane restrictions and minor delays as late as 5 p.m. Friday when Patch's camera snapped a steam roller crossing the road to its parking lot.

Nighttime Road Work Continues on Lancaster Ave at 252 in Paoli

Overnight work is part of a larger Aqua PA water main project.

Crews with jackhammers and portable lights are expected to be working on Lancaster Ave./Route 30 and Route 252 through early Friday morning.  The work is part of an ongoing water main installation along 252 from just south of the entrance to Paoli Shopping Center to Darby-Paoli Road. A crew supervisor on the site Monday night told Patch the work is being done from 8 p.m.- 6 a.m. to try to reduce the amount of disruption to traffic on the busy stretch of Lancaster Ave. The Lancaster Ave. work is expected to continue on the overnight shift all this week.
