About The Luma Center for Development and Learning
The Luma Center is a place for families to find support and services for children, ages 2-12, with developmental or learning challenges. The Center offers StarPoint™, a half-day program for children of all needs and abilities, individual speech-language and occupational therapy, early-intervention services, therapeutic preschool programs, and social skills groups. Services are provided by a highly knowledgeable and skilled team of diverse professionals from the fields of education, psychology, and occupational, physical and speech therapies. The Center also provides professional development and consultation services to schools. Summer Matters offers educational and recreational programming for young people ages 5-21 with learning challenges. Summer Matters programs are of varying formats and lengths and build on campers’ interests to help them succeed, learn and grow. Programs are held at sites in suburban Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic, and include Summer Voyagers, Summer L.I.F.E., two ESY programs, and respite programs. The Vanguard School provides comprehensive special education services with a unique focus on the individual student and his or her readiness for life. Since 1959, The Vanguard School has offered an integrated approach to academic, social, and career-transition skills within a supportive environment where each student is taught to become a contributing member of society. About Vanguard Transition Center
The Vanguard Transition Center offers post-secondary education, career development, and social and life skills development to young adults ages 18-21 who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, mild emotional disturbance, and/or neurological impairment. Students receive continuing education, counseling, self-advocacy training and career experience. Classes in current events, healthy lifestyles, and human social development are offered to all students, along with community based activities and recreational opportunities. The VTC offers support for students preparing to attend or enrolled in a post-secondary education program such as a community college, career skills development for students beginning paid work, and vocational and life skills training for students bridging to support from adult agencies.
