Debate Watch Parties Cheer Their Candidates

Republicans packed the house in Springfield while Democrats watch a few miles away.

Republican faithful packed the house at Moe's Grill in Springfield Wednesday night to watch Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama square off in the first Presidential Debate of the 2012 campaign season.

About 100 people wearing Romney buttons and snacking on chicken wings, onion rings and other appetizers gathered to for a GOP sponsored debate watch party.

TE and Springfield Patch Editor Bob Byrne covered a regional Republican watch party in Springfield Delaware County while Roxborough Patch Editor Sam Fran Scavuzzo watched with Democrats a few miles away in Philadelphia.

The Patch editors posted a running "play by play" with reactions from both party's faithful as well as other Twitter tweeters.

You can see how it unfolded live here on TE Patch.
