The National Park Service has banned unmanned aircrafts, or drones, in all parks, National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis announced Friday. The new policy prohibits the launching, flying or landing of such drones in any of the country's national parks.

“We embrace many activities in national parks because they enhance visitor experiences with the iconic natural, historic and cultural landscapes in our care,” Jarvis said. “However, we have serious concerns about the negative impact that flying unmanned aircraft is having in parks, so we are prohibiting their use until we can determine the most appropriate policy that will protect park resources and provide all visitors with a rich experience.”

The National Park Service said there have been several incidents with drones in the past year that led to this ban, including one at Zion National Park in which a drone was used to disturb a herd of bighorn sheep, separating young from their mothers.

If The National Park Service can ban drones over the parks, can a land owner band the use over there private property ?

fkilinsky actually, I'm a lifelong Democrat who voted for him the first time. I am obviously very disappointed in him. I was called a racist because I didn't vote for the 2nd time. A ridicuous accusation ?

Francis... Nice to see you are still stuck in the left/right paradigm... I bet you still think men in caves caused 9/11?
