It's Official: Easttown Manager Suddenly Out

Former 40-year township manager is called back from retirement as mystery swirls on Beaumont Road.

Easttown Township Manager Mike Brown is out of a job. A high level source close to the story says Mike Brown is no longer Easttown Township Manager. Details of his sudden departure last Monday remain unclear-at least for the moment.

Brown was appointed to the job in Janaury 2012 upon the retirement of 40-year veteran Township Manager Gene Williams.

On Tuesday morning, Williams was back in his old office and Brown was gone. Williams confirmed to Patch that the Township Boad of Supervisors asked him to come out of retirement "on a temporary basis."  Williams said he is there to help with Administrative and Zoning needs of the township on an interim basis.

So what happened to Township Manager Mike Brown?

The answer may come as soon as Monday afternoon, according to a high-level source who is in a position to know. Over the weekend the source could only confirm that Brown is no longer Easttown Township Manager and that the departure is permanent.

The Board of Supervisors meets on Tuesday this week (due to the Presidents Day Holiday). An explanation could be expected to come during that meeting, if not before.

funny when i called him about being brushed by a car at fellini's because you had to walk behind the cars due to junk on sidewalk, he had no advise and had no interest - i did think that was strange, and it was awhile ago - so maybe he just wasn't right man for job

Why did it take so long for this story to be reported on? Does anybody know anything else that might shed some light on this topic?

Matt Di Domenico needed to get rid of Micheal Brown so he could open his restaurant "30 Main", at Main and Lancaster avenues in Berwyn.
