Spend an Hour Tonight, Become an Instant Hero

A one hour class offered tonight could save the life of someone you love and turn you into a real-life hero.

When seconds count, this is an hour that could help you save the life of  someone you love.

The Berwyn Fire Company is offering a CPR class net month that takes just an hour. They'll also teach you how to save a choking victim.

Update There are still slots available for the class TONIGHT, Tuesday November 20, from 7-8p. It is open to teens as well as adults.Night:

Here are the details as provided to Patch by the Berwyn Fire Company.

EMS Educational Services, Inc. in conjunction with the BERWYN FIRE COMPANY presents “Heroes Aren’t Born... They’re Trained”.

This 1-hour community CPR class will teach those that have never learned CPR before to call for help, to perform HANDS-ONLY CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). We will also teach choking relief for a conscious victim.

This not-for-profit class is being offered to your community to raise awareness of how ANYONE, regardless of age / experience / physical limitation can save a life. When someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, it is the bystanders that call for help and start immediate CPR that play a crucial role in that victim’s survival. You’ll learn about the American Heart Association’s Chain of Survival, and how important your role in that chain is.
