A female jogger woman was assaulted Monday afternoon, Tredyffrin Township Police are reporting.
A jogger was alone on a trail around 2:45 p.m. near the Treyburn development off of Old Eagle School Road when she was approached by a man, police told 6ABC.
The man appeared to be in distress, 6ABC said. He asked the woman for help, and when she approached him, he grabbed her and threw her to the ground, police told ABC.
The man attempted to sexually assault the woman, but she was able to break free, and ran to a nearby business to call police, ABC said.
Tredyffrin Township Police responded with K-9 units, but were unable to locate the man, who was described as white or Hispanic and muscular, wearing a light blue, short-sleeved shirt and light-colored shorts. He also has a pronounced 6-inch scar on one of his calves, ABC said.
Police urged people to use extreme caution while the man is on the loose.
