Driver with Marijuana Crosses Bridge in Overweight Truck, Police Say

Police say in another case, public urination led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Disorderly conduct... On April 21, at 2:28 p.m., an officer on patrol on Westlakes Drive in Berwyn observed a subject urinating in a parking lot. Upon contact, he detected the odor of alcohol on the man's breath. The 59-year-old Philadelphia resident was in possession of a pipe commonly used to smoke crack in, according to police. He was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Possession... On April 23, at 5:58 p.m., police observed the driver of a full-size tractor trailer drive over a bridge on Howellville Road in Berwyn that was posted as having a 7-ton weight restriction. The driver, a 43-year-old Bethlehem man, was stopped and the truck was weighed and found to be well over the weight limit, according to the police report. Officers determined that his operating privilege was suspended. Officers also detected the smell of marijuana on the driver, and he was charged with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and cited for the Weight Restriction violation and Driving with a Suspended License.
