Neighbors say they could hear the blast and knew right away that something had exploded.
A Tredyffrin Township Police woman escaped injury Saturday afternoon after her patrol car caught fire and exploded, sending the trunk of the vehicle 50 feet into the air.
No one was hurt in the incident which is still under investigation by the Tredyffrin Police Department and the Chester County Fire Marshal.
Editor's Note: In Friday morning's TE Patch Newsletter we promoted this story as new video of the car fire. In that video, shot from several hundred yards away, you can see the car on fire and see when something explodes in the rear of the vehicle. It sounds like a shot gun blast.
Several hours after the TE Patch Newsletter was sent out this morning, the photographer requested that we take the video down. We are honoring that request and sincerely apologize to readers who may have clicked on the story from the newsletter to see the video.
