T/E Grad, Veteran Journalist Dies at 77

Her career in local news spanned four decades.

Long time Main Line, Chester County  and Delaware Valley reporter Margaret R. 'Peggy' Higgins of Malvern died Friday at age 77.  

According to an obituary on Legacy.com Higgins was a 1954 graduate of Tredyffrin/Easttown High School "and spent 40 years working as a reporter and copy editor for newspapers. She started her career with the Daily Local News in West Chester, and then moved to the Main Line Times in 1956. In 1963 Peggy began working at the Evening Bulletin and stayed until the paper closed in Jan. 1982. Peggy spent the final years of her career at the Philadelphia Daily News." 

Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Alleva Funeral Home 1724 E. Lancaster Ave., Paoli, and again from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Rd., Strafford, downstairs in the Sacred Heart Chapel. A funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m..
