April showers to give way to excellent weekend weather

The cold front boundary from yesterday has dropped far enough south to support mostly dry conditions through this afternoon, however very heavy rainfall is on the way for tomorrow that could produce localized urban flooding.  The good news though is this weekend is looking outstanding!

As an area of low pressure over the Plains lifts northeast towards New England, periods of moderate to heavy rain can be expected late tonight on through early Saturday morning.  The rainfall will have embedded thunderstorms as well with wind gusts up to 50 mph, occasional lightning, and very heavy downpours.  Rainfall amounts of a half an inch to an inch is expected with isolated amounts up to two inches.  Winds will back from the east to the northwest at 10 to2 0 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 40's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.

High pressure will build into the region by Saturday morning and remain in place through Monday morning with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will remain near normal through the period.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 40's to lower 50's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.

An area of low pressure will approach from the Tennessee River Valley on Monday with increasing clouds through the day followed by periods of rain Monday night through Tuesday morning.  High pressure will take hold Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday with scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the mid to upper 40's for lows and lower to mid 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.
