Want To Be A Millionare? Here's Your Chance

'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' seeks contestants in the Greater Philadelphia region with local tryouts.

What would you do with an extra million bucks in the bank?  Here's your chance to win $1,000,000. Area residents will have their shot to be on ABC’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?next week.

Meredith Viera hosts the 30 weekday trviaquestion show. Guests are quizzed with randomly selected questions. With each question answered correctly, contestants win progressively larger amounts of money.

As watchers know, guests are also given some “help” through "life lines" like “Ask the Audience” or “Jump the Question.” Contestants work their way up the ladder in order to get to the big money, and try to win one million dollars.

Are you the local quizzo champion? Do you always beat family and friends at Trivial Pursuit? If this sounds like something you can totally do, you have your local shot.

On Thursday, Oct. 11 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, the show will host regional tryouts. The center is located at 1101 Arch St., Philadelphia.

Audition space will be limited. Those that tryout to be a contestant must be age 18 or over, a United States resident and meet all eligibility requirements. Contestants trying out must not have ever been in the “hot seat” in the past.

During the auditions, guests will be asked to take a written test first. If you pass the written test, a personal interview is conducted with a representative of the show. If you pass that interview, you are placed in a Contestant Pool and are available for selection on future shows.

There is no pre-registration necessary to attend the tryout. Complete and official rules can be viewed at this link.

If you’d prefer to just watch, you can register for free tickets to watch. The show is taped at ABC Studios, 320 W. 66th St., New York, NY. You can all 212-456-1494 or visit this link to purchase tickets.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? airs locally on 6ABC Monday-Friday from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
