Local Church Providing Children’s Day of Fun for Parents to Shop on Black Friday

Millions of Americans will wake up early on the day after Thanksgiving.  Ready for “Black Friday”, savings. However,  parents with sleepy or tired young children, it may not be worth all the money they could be saving.

The Mt. Zion AME Church 380 N. Fairfield Road, Devon, PA is offering a special ‘Children’s Day of Fun’ on November 23 so that parents can take advantage of after-Thanksgiving shopping specials.

‘Children’s Day of Fun’ will provide arts and crafts, music, games and many other fun and entertaining activities for children ages 6 months to 13 years.  The childcare services will be offered in two 4-hour sessions, 8 AM – 12 Noon and 12 Noon to 4 PM.  The morning session includes breakfast and snacks, while afternoon session includes lunch and snacks.  The cost to attend ‘Children’s Day of Fun’ is $5 per hour for the first child and $3 per hour for each additional child. All Mt. Zion AME staff has had criminal background checks and received child abuse clearance. Staff is certified in infant and child CPR as well as first aid.

Members of the Mt. Zion AME Church want to help local residents and hope that this outreach service will introduce both the church and its facilities to the greater community.

Mt. Zion AME Church welcomes all children to attend Children’s Day of Fun but due to limited space.  Secure your space register your child/children as soon as possible.  Registration is easy.  send your information via email to Mtzioname.church@aol.com; confirmation of your registration will sent by return email.  For questions, call 484-354-8239.

Mt. Zion AME Church Rev. April Martin explains, “This is an opportunity for parents to be able to get the shopping done a little bit faster and with a little less stress and know that their children are enjoying a day of fun.  We are hoping it is something parents will utilize and use, and if all goes well, we may plan on doing it again in the future.”
