Two TE Businesses to Shut Down Abruptly Today

One has a corporate savior who rides in a yellow car instead of a white horse.

Ritz Camera in Paoli Shopping Center has been set to close down at the end of tis weekend for a while now. Instead Thursday will be the beloved store's last day in business.

The sudden change in closing date came as a surprise to some employees who returned from a lunch break Wednesday to see the countdown sign had been suddenly changed from six days to one.

Their surprise was tempered by the news behind the sign.

Cardinal Camera, a Lansdale, Montgomery County based and family owned camera store chain is buying the lease and taking over the locations of 11 Ritz Camera stores, including Paoli effective Monday.

The other store that is shutting down today is the Pizza Hut in the Paoli Village Shoppes.  The manager confirmed to Patch and signs in the store announce the closing after many years in that location.

They are also asking their customers to do one important thing to help them relocate. Click here to read the full story on TE Patch.

Do you know if the new owners are going to honor any previous obligations in terms of prepaid photo cards and scanned pictures.

I don't know the answer. The store is open until noon today so I would suggest calling over there this morning.

Seriously, why all the negative headlines. Ritz Camera has been closing for a while, but the story is actually positive. When you click on the Pizza Hut story, the headline is lousy and then you find out it isn't because business is down, but because of a rent/lease issue. It's hard enough to get people to start being positive - especially about the economy -- without headlines like this that make it sound much worse than it actually is! Very good point....however, the headline would not sell any papers.
