Paoli Gift Store Invites Customers to Shop for a Cause

ShoppeFlare in Paoli will donate part of Monday's profits to help breast cancer patients, families and survivors.

Shoppers can buy gifts and make a gift that will help fight breast cancer at the same time and for no extra charge throughout the day Monday at Monday.

The store's co-owners say 15% of shopping proceeds throughout the day will be donated to BreastCancer.org. The store will host a "Happy Hour" from 6-9 p.m. when the store will donate 20 percent of proceeds to Breastcancer.org.

Store co-owner Wendy Belle says the idea came after friends asked the store to help support the Ardmore-based charity which is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing information and community to those touched by breast cancer.

The store specializes custom monograming as well as gift items ranging from kids to adults.

Bob...another example of an article that needed to be in Monday's Patch....instead it is here today..Tuesday. The article is designed to make people aware so they can go and shop and help a good cause. Not sure how the article writing/selection takes place for PATCH...but recently I've seen several articles that wouuld hav been better placed a day or two before they showed up. I'm sure it is not easy...but unless you know what's happening...how can you improve. Best to you and editorial staff....getting articles out before the event when you want to herald something. Articles on what happened at an event as a back view look....are fine after and can only happen after. Sorry to be a stickler. But I love PATCH....and it is a tad aggravating to see articles that need to be harbingers of things to come...being a little too late. Best wishes always for good things for PATCH. I really enjoy this online local news. Great work on the IRENE damage coverage...and 9/11, too! Best- Barbara Cresswell

Barbara, thanks for your comments. I'm not sure what happened that you did not see it, but this article was indeed posted on Monday, September 12, prior to the event. We'll be doing a follow up on this story with more details about the great work that breastcancer.org is doing for cancer patients and their families here on the Main Line and around the world via the internet. Thanks for reading Patch!
