New Paoli Nudy's Set to Open Friday Morning

The surprising thing owner Ray Nudy has been telling everyone about the long-anticipated opening day.

Ray Nudy says he's been telling people "two weeks" whenever they ask when the new Nudy's Cafe in Paoli would open.  He's been saying that all summer, he jokes.

Friday morning the wait will be over as the new Nudy's Cafe location opens at 7 a.m. across Lancaster Avenue from the Wawa in Paoli.  This will be the seventh location for the popular Devon-based cafe chain.

Nudy was among the crew scrubbing the floors and tables and putting the finishing touches on the breakfast and lunch cafe Thursday afternoon.

The new Nudy's will be open weekdays 7 am-4 p.m. and Weekends 7 a.m.- 3p.m.

He says there is seating for about fifty at tables and a counter seating area inside the building which was most recently the home of Jake's Frozen Custard which closed in July 2011.

If you like the menu at the other Nudy's locations you'll like this one. It's the same. (I just had a bbq onion burger). They've done a very nice job on the interior. Faux barn wood flooring, comfortable tables and a whole lot more room than in the Devon location. Frankly, when I heard they were going to have seating for 50 I wondered how they would do it. But they've completely gutted and built the interior of the restaurant from scratch in what was Jake's Frozen Custard until last July. (Unlike Jake's there's no outdoor seating at this point. Also new: The air conditioning in the building has been completely replaced and works great.) Have you tried the new Nudy's yet? If you go, let us know what you think right here on TE Patch.

Tried the new Nudy's for breakfast today. As bob observes, it is essentially the same as the other Nudy's locations, including the one in Frazer we have come to love. Had the ham and cheese omelette, which was fluffy and made to perfection. The coffee was good also. Sadly, the home fries were lukewarm and the side of toast was downright cold. Could not point this out to the server, however, since he disappeared after serving the food and did not return until he presented the check. Hopefully, they will get the kinks out.
