Say Hello to Bye Bye Birdie at Footlighters

Classic Broadway musical opens this weekend at Berwyn's Footlighters Theater.

is bringing the 1960's back with music, fun and local talent.

The community theater on Main Ave in Berwyn opens a four week run of Bye Bye Birdie on Friday at 8 p.m.

Here's what Footlighters says about the production:

Bye Bye Birdie is one of the best loved musicals ever - and it opens this Friday!

The final touches are being put on the dances, songs, set and costumes - be sure not to miss the exciting music filled show- great for all ages.
It tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army.

The singer, Conrad Birdie, is an Elvis Presley type. Albert Peterson, his agent, is a very pleasant mild mannered young man. Albert’s faithful secretary Rose Alvarez keeps him and Birdie moving forward in the world. Rosie concocts one final national publicity plan before Conrad’s induction.

Conrad will bid a typical American teen-age girl goodbye with an all-American kiss. Kim MacAfee in Sweet Apple, Ohio wins the honor. All of the phones in her town are already busy during The Telephone Hour as Kim has just been pinned to Hugo, a local boy.

Tickets are available on line by clicking here for the Footlighters website.
