If you think Lancaster Ave/Route 30 is looking a little cleaner in Berwyn this week, that's because it is. Members of Boy Scout Troop 181 teamed up with volunteers from the Berwyn-Devon Business and Professional Association to pick up trash.
BDBPA Vice President and Easttown Board of Supervisors Vice President Marc Heppe took photos during the clean up on Saturday and sent this account of the morning along with his photos.
work day was a great success. Bagels and coffee compliments if the
Bagel Factory. About 20 volunteers including judge Tartaglio and his 2
children, 10 scouts and parents from Boy Scout Troop 181 in Berwyn turned out to pick up trash and weeds along Lancaster Ave. from Casey's Pour House to Berwyn
Pizza. Eadeh supplied bags, gloves, water, and manpower (Mike and
Dave). We even helped Nancy Ward weed the Gold Star Mother's Garden at
the train station. Berwyn Pizza saw us in their
lot and donated pizzas, Neopliitan Deli, water. Easttown Police officer
Andrew Tritz made sure we were safe. It turned out to be a wonderful community event."
Editor's Note: Thanks to Marc and Stacey Ballard of Eadeh Enterprises for getting the photos to Patch and for their work on the clean up day. If your group or organization has an event, post the photos on Patch. Just click on the big green "Post" button on the homepage.
