New Easttown Library Programs Include Kindergarten Reading Initiative, LGBT Estate Planning Seminar

Easttown Library has announced two new programs.

Easttown Library has announced two new programs.

The first, the library says, is the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Club.

According to the library: "This FREE program encourages parents to read 1000 books with their children before they start kindergarten. All participants will receive book plates for every 100 books they read and a free book for every 500 books they read.  And, of course, they will also have a head start when it comes to learning to read on their own. For more information or to sign up, stop by the Youth Services department or e-mail us atyouthservices@easttownlibrary.org."

The second is an estate-planning session for the LGBT community. The library says: "On Thursday, May 22nd at 7 p.m. Attorney Joe Masiuk will talk about effective estate planning for same-sex couples. The presentation will cover how proper information and early planning can overcome many common hurdles. Effective estate planning can help alleviate stress and frustration and help to ensure wishes are met. Learn how legal documentation, such as the Healthcare Power of Attorney, a Living Will, and a Revocable Living Trust can help you to avoid costly procedures and lengthy court proceedings.

"Speaker Joe Masiuk is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys and has been engaged in the practice of law for the last 38 years. Registration is required; visit www.easttownlibrary.org to register online."
