DESCRIPTION:Victor Mordasov will be showcasing his\n"Faces of Tradition"
 - a tribute to the Jewish people\nin addition to his prolific still life
\, landscape and marine scenes\nVictor studied at the College of Art and
the Academy of Art in Minsk\, Belarus before immigrating with his famil
y to the United States in 1995.\nWell known for his paintings in the sty
le of Rembrandt\, Victor was inspired by the Holocaust as a major theme
for many of his portraits.&nbsp\; Fearing that the next generation has a
lready forgotten what had happened to the millions of Jews who perished
during that time\, Victor desires to preserve this memory in his exempla
ry work.&nbsp\; His authenticity and sensitivity gives life to the words
found in history books.&nbsp\; Victor&rsquo\;s interpretation and lifel
ike portrayal of faces of those who suffered such atrocities is felt on
 his canvases.&nbsp\;\nApproximately 800\,000 Jews\, almost 90% of the co
untry&rsquo\;s Jewish population were killed in Belarus during the Holoc
aust.&nbsp\; According to the 2009 census\, there were only about 13\,00
0 Jews remaining. &nbsp\;\nTears stream down her face as Mila\, Victor&r
squo\;s wife\, interprets his words concerning his life.&nbsp\; Victor a
nd Mila are extremely passionate about their story and intend to let the
world know of the &ldquo\;faces of tradition&rdquo\; through his these
paintings that will last forever.\nThese moving images will be on displa
 y through March 30th.\n&nbsp\;
