 ku\, a form of Japanese poetry almost inseparable from nature. Learn abo
 ut the true essence of haiku and how it is so much more than the syllabi
 c form poem we are taught in elementary school. Listen to a reading of h
 aiku by the old masters and modern poets\, and write your own haiku insp
 ired by the gardens in winter and the Ikebana floral arrangements that w
 ill be on display in the Lecture Room\, along with Japanese quilts on ex
 hibit. Please bring a notebook and pen or pencil.\nCost: $25 members\; $
