Spring Woodland Ephemeral Wildflower Walk
Led by Maggie S. Knapp, Horticulturist and Ephemeral Enthusiast
Celebrate the coming of spring with a tour of the ephemeral wildflowers. Spring ephemerals are a special group of woodland wildflowers that bloom before the canopy trees "leaf-out" to take advantage of early spring's sunlight before competition begins in earnest. This special group includes such beloved plants as trillium, trout lilies, hepatica, Virginia bluebells, and lady's slippers, to name a few.
Jenkins Arboretum excels in this woodland wildflower group. maggie Knapp, Head Horticulturist at Jenkins, will lead the tour among these precious plants.
Free of charge. All are welcome. Pre-registration required. Class size is limited.

More About Jenkins Arboretum
Jenkins Arboretum is a privately owned and operated natural arborteum that is open to the public free of charge 365 days per year. H. Lawrence Jenkins established the arboretum on his property as a memorial to his wife, Elisabeth Phillippe Jenkins, who was avid gardener. The Arboretum opened to the public in 1976. Views of the valley all the way to King of Prussia, as well as up-close views of nature can be seen along the 1.2 miles of paved pathways that wind through the 40+ acre site. The property features an education center that was finished in 2010 and five different garden areas, including Rhododendron Collection, Green Ribbon Native Plants®, The Woodland Garden, Wildflower Gardens and a Bog Garden
