This fall, your little artist is invited to join Wayne Art Center for an after-school Art Adventure! Each week we will tackle a new theme and discover new materials in this NEW series of one-hour workshops. Sign up for each individually ($15/date) or a 5-week section ($70/5 weeks).


1. Japanese Art: Prints and Bookmaking, November 8 4:15-5:15PM- Learn about gyotaku (fish prints) and turn some of those prints into a one-of-a-kind, bound book.


2. Screen Prints, November 15 4:15-5:15PM- Learn about pop artist Andy Warhol and how to create a series of original screen prints.


3. Woven Bowels, November 29 4:15-5:15PM- Using a circle loom and a variety of materials, construct a woven bowel.


4. Paper Cuts- Scherenschnitte, December 6 4:15-5:15PM- Scherenschnitte is the art of paper-cutting design. Create a stunning silhouette scene out of cut paper.


5. Illuminated Manuscripts, December 13 4:15-5:15PM- Create a monogram inspired by Medieval illuminated manuscripts.

The Wayne Art Center continues to grow as it has during the last five years and offers programming and exhibition for adults and children. Four sessions of classes and workshops are offered each year for sculpture, drawing, painting, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry, cooking and music instruction. 

The Wayne Art Center also features two state of the art galleries that feature changing exhibitions of work by local, regional, national and international artists. The center runs a visual, culinary and performing arts summer camp with weekly day sessions for children ages 2 - 16 years old. Outreach programs are also offered including classes for brain injured and seniors. The gift shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
