What Do Latest Pa. Obama-Romney Polls Say?
Three polls out Tuesday show Obama with better numbers in Pennsylvania than he had a week ago
Is Pennsylvania safely won for President Barack Obama or will Governor Mitt Romney mount a last-minute campaign effort in the Keystone State?
Obama had what appeared to be a solid lead in Pennsylvania until the first presidential debate. Neither candidate has spent much money on the local airwaves.
Three polls out Tuesday show Obama with better numbers than he had a week ago.
- An Allentown Morning Call poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney 50 to 45 in Pennsylvania - that's a slight improvement for Obama over the news organization's prior survey.
- An Angus Reid poll shows Obama with a 10-point lead among decided likely voters in the Keystone State, according to PoliticsPa.
- A poll commissioned by Let Freedom Ring shows Obama up 48 to 44

I've already voted for the President (It felt really good)..
Folks.. DON'T Listen to ANYONE (even me.... but do take my advice)...
There isn't a poll in the world or another talking head on CNN or Fox that makes one ounce of difference at this point.. not to mention, millions of people have already voted.
YOU.. GET OUT AND VOTE>. Participate in the great American Democracy.
Grab a friend who is registered, ask your family if they have their ballot in yet.
If you CAN'T vote early, ask your rep's why they let your state lag behind the nation.
~~~~
Even with early voting, people get discouraged, intimidated, bullied, lose interest etc. etc. and more people who are registered will end up NOT voting than do.. It happens every election Don't let that be you. Your vote is important enough that I am out working to get you to cast it.. It means something.
Regardless of candidate, if you vote and participate in the great American Democracy, we have all voted and participated for the same thing in the end.
Don't let someone else have two votes, because you decided it wasn't worth your one vote.
Moe
Yeah Chas, lots of votes cast already. Just look at NC:
NORTH CAROLINA: FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH OR MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD?
According to reports, more than 2600 people over the age of 110 have already voted in North Carolina.
http://www.theblaze.com/blog/2012/10/22/north-carolina-fountain-of-youth-or-massive-voter-fraud/
New polls out today, likely voters:
Gallup: Romney +6 (51% of the vote)
Rasmussen: Romney +4
On another related note, there is a University of Colorado computer model that was created in 1980 and which has correctly predicted every presidential election since it's creation. It shows Romney winning in a massive landslide, with over 310 electoral votes, and +9% or more in popular vote.
According to the Susquehanna Poll, Mitt Romney has taken the lead over Barack Obama in PA. http://www.susquehannapolling.com/
Morgan King
Susquehanna has been consistently the only poll to show that:
" A Susquehanna poll of Pennsylvania (commissioned by the Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania) showed Mitt Romney four points ahead there — the first poll of any kind showing Mr. Romney with a lead in Pennsylvania since another Susquehanna poll in February.
The catch is that Susquehanna has long shown much better results for Mr. Romney in Pennsylvania than other polls of the state. The five-point swing toward Mr. Romney in the poll is not inconsistent with what the other polls show, but Mr. Romney started from a higher baseline in the Susquehanna poll, having been down just one point in a poll they conducted in late September."
Selectively choosing which polling responses to weight more heavily to conform to your assumptive model, in this case the 2004 model, has been pretty widely debunked - the whole premise of polling is to sample a representative portion of the population, if you have to weight your responses to do that, your polling methods or pool size are to blame. That, and using a 2004 model is pretty silly 8 years later - 2004's barely-showed-up 18-29 year olds have now both turned out in record numbers in '08 and are now in the much more reliable voting range of 26-37 year olds.
Everybody on both sides of this election should be mindful not to rush to embrace outlier polling that agrees with them.
Ms. Garcia, our entire family is doing better than we were at the end of the George W. Bush Administration. Both professionals in our home have jobs, our children saw pay increases this year in their part time work, our portfolios have been mended since the Republican over site disaster, and our insurance premiums went down, because our children have been put back on our family plan, as we no longer are having to purchase insurance for our kids individually.
What kind of work do you do and maybe you should shop around for a better insurance plan.
Obama inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression, and no one, democrat or republican could possibly fix it all in four years. You might want to check out Mitt's own personal track record more closely. Fact one- At Bain Capital, Romney saved companies through offshoring American jobs and received a 20K payday on each one. Fact two- He's flipped more posiitons since the primaries than our gymnastics team. Fact three- He's not for womans rights if you heard him in the primaries. Fact four- He ignored his country's call to service through deferments and was bicycling France while good men died in Vietnam. So given the choice between him or the president, I'll stick with the president.
Right Gregory, all symptoms of a very crooked system based on greed and avarice. You offer a more accurate perspective because of your age and experience. I have seen the degradation of what is called quality of life in the last 40 years too.
Big Business is the rule of the day. Sinking the middle class is "good for business". War is good for business and "our economy" - wait who's economy? Can't be ours because ours is crashing! Must be their economy, the ones that would rather cut medicaid and medicare to feed the war machine, and hire foreigners across the globe rather than hire their own brothers and sisters!
The American public is being manipulated out of their freedoms, their choices, their voices by the big business lobbyists...and this is what has become the measure of what we call success? There is no 'We The People' when third party candidates are denied equal air time in the National Debates. There is no 'Freedom and Justice For All' when Ron Paul (third in the polls) was denied his place in the National Convention. 11,000 people came to support Dr. Paul in Florida at the USF - the MSM didn't show up, only Faux News was there interviewing teen-aged girls in the hallways. College professors, students, politicians, men and women filled the stands, they weren't invited to be interviewed. Conspiracy is not a theory.
Geez people. Stop calling everyone stupid if they disagree with your choice of candidate. I know plenty of smart people who support both candidates. I happen to support Romney because I think Obama has failed our nation miserably. He added more debt than any president in history, when he said he would reduce it. Gas prices doubled on his watch and unemployment has been over 8% for all but two months of his presidency. That is a terrible record and I think Romney can do better. That does not make me stupid. If Romney stinks the joint up then in four years I will vote to kick his butt out too.
Romney's business success basically consists of taking the many millions his Daddy left him and using it (along with the many connections he made by going to the most elite schools in the nation for his entire life) to start a group that basically buys struggling companies, guts their pensions, and liquidates them for a profit. Herman Cain was a better "business man" for crying out loud! At least he started from the bottom and worked his way up the corporate ladder.
As for him "saving" the Olympics, he used GOVERNMENT money to balance those books. Educate yourself....
Richard - know what you are talking about before you say something. It will keep you from looking foolish. .... Romney did not receive one dime from his father. Zero. Nothing. Got it?
.
10:48 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Tim, you should really follow your own advice:
Mitt's father, George, died in 1995. Romney was already profoundly wealthy by 1995, so the question of whether Mitt inherited money is an intentional red herring, irrelevant to the question of whether he is a self-made man. (Chelsea Clinton hasn't inherited a penny from Bill or Hillary yet, but I wouldn't say she has struggled up from poverty.)
So Mitt's claim that his father left him nothing is deceptive in what it purports to say and, of course, also a literal lie. What a surprise. When asked about why his father would write his own kids out of his will Mitt (probably realizing belatedly that his lie made it sound like he must have done something truly horrible to written out of George's will like that) corrected the record.
"I figured we had enough of our own," he said. (Meaning they had enough that donating the bequest meant that they actually did keep a substantial part of the bequest in the form of tax savings. Think it through. Assuming Mitt pays taxes at all, and if the bequest was as small as half a million, then at 1995 rates that bequest would have had a cash value to Mitt of about $200,000.)
Since George Romney didn't die until 1995 it is really not very germane how much money he bequeathed Mitt, of course. Saying, "I never received help from my very wealthy father growing up," would be more to the point, but I doubt Mitt would care to make that claim.
So what Richard. What does it matter that Romney was born in a wealthy family some of our greatest presidents were born wealthy. And as far as using government money if you think that is a bad thing then you better not vote for Obama because spending other peoples money is his awnser for everything. he has no ideas how to fix anything he just throws taxpayer money at a problem and if that doesnt work he throws some more.
I have been in VA and OH for business in the past several weeks and can tell you that Presidental ads are running there non-stop. Tim, why must you repeat absolute falsehoods. You remember the tale of Ann Romney about getting married and living in a $62 basement apartment? Here is her entire quote: "They were not easy years. You have to understand, I was raised in a lovely neighborhood, as was Mitt, and at BYU, we moved into a $62-a-month basement apartment with a cement floor and lived there two years as students with no income... Neither one of us had a job, because Mitt had enough of an investment from stock that we could sell off a little at a time." Where do you think Mitt got that stock? And it was enough for them to live on for over 3 years. Bain is another gift. Bain knew George Romney and offered to make Mitt the President of a new company without any risk to him. Should the venture fail, Mitt was offered a salaried job. Do you think this is unrelated to his father? Finally,, Mitt had a trust fund given to him in his lifetime to avoid estate taxes. So he renounced any bequests from the will of his father. took advantage of the charitable deduction he received to decrease his taxes (the money was given to BYU). Finally, Mitt had dropped out of Stanford after 1 year and went to BYU. He was admitted to Harvard Law just coincidentally when his father was Secy of Commerce. He received nothing from his father? Please.
Why these people support a guy like Romney who has already said he thinks they are losers dependant of the government for everything (47%ers) is beyond me. Ann Romney has already referred to the general public as "you people" half a dozen times and has never worked a real job in her life. They are more like royality than the average American. Sorry but I truely believe if Obama was a white man named John Smith (or even Hillary), this election wouldn't even be close and "Obamacare" would be regarded as a great policy! The racism and hate many still have is sickening!
Yikes!
11:07 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Richard - the answer is that there are people who suffer from the same delusion that there are a large number of "freeloaders" (aka Democrats) who don't want to work, and they are very certain that these "losers" will vote for Obama, whom they hate because he is a minority. There are more Archie Bunkers in town than I ever imagined. I hear them talking, they live right here, they are your neighbors.
Richard sometimes the truth hurts. Way to many people are becoming dependant on government. We should be providing a path for their independence but instead of making it possible for people to enjoy their liberty and freedoms we seem to want to become a welfare state and make them more dependant. I think its Obama who thinks he is royality and by making people dependant they will become his loyal subjects.
Jon, Richard - guys you come across as envious and resentful of wealthy people. Has envy ever put more money in your pockets? Has Obama? Advise you to look at what people DO and have done, focus less on gender or skin color or other circumstances over which they can exercise zero control. Obama would you keep you down and ensure your vote. Romney would create conditions to protect your opportunities to become wealthy yourselves. Many wealthy people started out with nothing. Some were born into wealth. Who CARES. The only question to ask is, does Obama serve us, or himself? Would Romney serve us, or himself?
.
11:23 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Jack, while I am not as wealthy as Mitt, I do "OK" and haven't paid an additional nickle in taxes since Obama took office. In fact, my tax burden has gone DOWN! I'm am not "envious" of Mitt's wealth but annoyed but the fact that he pretends to be this self made man when he is just another silver spoon elitest. I would have more respect for him if he was honest about his privileged upbringing.
And to answer your last question, I honestly believe Obama cares more about the poor and middle class than Mitt Romney. Romney's 47%ers speech (given to millionarie donors when he thought nobody else was listening) tells us more about what he really thinks of the "peasants" than any campaign speech or right wing talking point.
I've been look at the RCP numbers nationwide. It looks like PBO has lost 10 points nationwide from 2008. That puts PA in very serious play since R/R have done very well with affluent suburbs such those key voting areas in PA.
Between coal, affluent voters, Republican enthusiasm and Democratic malaise (see early voting in Nevada compared to 2008 for comparison) it seems pretty likely that R/R will win PA. PA is much different than Ohio. Just my thoughts based on what we've seen.
It can't be good news that Majority PAC is having to do ad buys for Casey. He was supposed to be up by at least 10pts by now.
Of course, 97+% of PA voting is on election day. There are still two weeks of news cycles to encourage/discourage the different voters.
We'll see.
Neil, that is wishful thinking. The Philly burbs have tilted much more Democratic over the past 4 years (Montgomery Co. just elected a Democratic majority in the Commissioner's office for the first time in 100 years). The only reason the local Republican Reps can keep their seats is because they keep re-drawing the districts in to jigsaw pizzle pieces to supress minority voters. As for the rural part of the state (where few people actually live) the rednecks in coal country wouldn't vote for a black man if he went to each of their homes and gave them 10K so I'm not sure how that now spells doom for Obama.
Again, the money speaks louder than any BS poll and Romney isn't spending any here because he knows it is a lost cause.
Yes we will see on November 6th.
Richard, you say you do "OK." Then Romney's speech wasn't meant for you, either. Apparently you take responsibility for yourself and maybe others, a family. You're not a freeloader. Maybe, Richard, deep down, you agree with Romney's speech that day, which was:
"47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement and government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. I mean, the president starts off with 48, 49 ... I mean, he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax; 47 percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn’t connect. He’ll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that’s what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 percent in the center, that are independents, that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon, in some cases, emotion, whether they like the guy or not, what he looks like."
Jack "Off" Minster - It's pretty clear you are a Republican troll, possibly even on the local RNC payroll. Your nonsense (nor mine to be fair) isn't changing anyones mind at this point. The only poll that matters now will be done on November 6th. When Obama is re-elected for a second term, will you and the people you support reach across party lines to solve America's problems or will you continue to root for our nation to fail for political and racist reasons?
Peace out....
It truly does amaze me that sometimes on here the discussion can lead to nonsense and name calling. I really hope that the people who do not fact check and just rely on pure obnoxiousness refrain from voting on Nov 6th... For anyone who thinks Romney was a spoiled little white kid with everything handed to him, how about you check on the way your President was raised, Hmmm, by RICH WHITE GRANDPARENTS... he was not some kid from the slums either... Stop bashing and start really looking at the facts...
It is a shame that so many are distracted by (usually intentionally) misleading talking points and 'what is the candidate REALLY like' celebrity nonsense instead of discussing actual policy issues. There is no reason that in 2012 every candidate shouldn't have highly detailed descriptions of proposed policies and budgets, with the actual numbers and language, available online for the public.
Come on, people....open your eyes, regardless of party. You want 4 more years of these gas prices? We do need a change, and to move forward, and that's with Romney.
Obama has been outstanding, notwithstanding a GOP House that obstructed every effort and held the country economically hostage in order to obtain power. 1. Equal pay for equal work; 2. Ending 2 wars; 3; Saving the auto industry; 4. Enacting a version of universal health care that will eventually bring the USA into modern society; 5. ordering the killing of Osama bin Laden; 6. saving and creating millions of jobs through the recovery act; 7. passing Wall Street and banking reform; reigning in the confiscatory practices of credit card companies; 8. reducing taxes on the middle class; 9. improving education; 10. advancing clean energy; 11. growing technology and sophisticated industries; 12. reducing the defense department; 13. repealing don't ask, don't tell; and pushing back on the relentless war against women, including the vaginal probes and Sandusky policies so cherished by the tea party wackos.
Sorry Richard, but questioning where the content comes from is not the same as questioning the content itself, which you didn't do, and I believe we all know why... It's a vicious pact of facts... As for Christie, he's happy to have the photo-op with Obama, and accept federal disaster funds... It raises his stature in NJ, and nationally as well... I didn't hear Christie refute any of the former criticisms of the Obama administration.... As for Obama, he leaped at the chance to have a photo-op with a conservative, so he could claim is bi-partisan success, as though the last four years never happened... He's been the most partisan president in our history... Between the economy, which still stinks, and this Benghazi disaster/disgrace/coverup, I don't believe Obama has much of a shot, despite the slanted polls giving him leads everywhere... The American people never accept incompetence and blatant dishonesty in the White House... There is no reason to believe they will do so in 2012...
Tony funny you should bring that up. Obama signs all over Montgo remained up through Sandy's winds. On Republican lawns, there were the full slate of signs, i.e., Romney-Ryan, Tom Smith, Jim Gerlach, etc. Magically, the winds of Sandy ONLY took away the Romney-Ryan signs leaving the remainder of the GOP ticket on lawns around me. State Police are sick of the calls and are starting to get rude.
I mentioned this in another thread, and the guy said "the other side steals signs too." Really? Not seeing that. State Police aren't seeing that. Just Romney-Ryan sign thefts. I just read that 25 banks closed in 2008... In 2012, 48 banks have closed so far... This is not good at all... Not a trend in the right direction at all... How can we be in any kind of economic recovery, if our financial institutions are closing down at nearly double the rate they were four years ago?
http://www.fdic.gov/bank/historical/bank/index.html
It will take 10 years, minimum, to see a full economic recovery at the rate we have seen under the Obama administration... Growth (a paltry 2%) and job creation is barely keeping up with the population growth... Who can wait ten years for the economy to recover? Who can wait ten years for a good job? The unemployment rate is up again at 7.9%, and only an artificial, temporary stimulus by the Federal Reserve, in which they are printing billions in new currency, is keeping it below 8%... Wake up, people... We are NOT in a recovery in any sense of the word, and four more years of Obama's policies will be a disaster... Is your bank going to be next?
Any student of finance should know that there are no magical four year fixes for excessive debts that have accumulated over an eight year span beyond that which was probably made public. Things are better for me than they were 8 years ago, as my health care costs which skyrocketed under Bush and became like another mortgage payment are down finally. Jobs are available, even though they might not be the ones that some people feel that they deserve. Fast food restaurants and local grocery stores are hiring in my area. Cleaning services are still looking for workers to clean houses, offices, etc. Sometimes you have to take what is available until you can get what you want. Under several Republicans, both Bushes and Reagan, things were worse for many, including me. The Clinton years were great and would have continued had there been no Bush. I am sure that our current president inherited a MESS worse than he or any of us could even anticipate or imagine. Many times one underestimates what it takes to remedy a HORRIBLE situation until you are actually in the driver's seat. What does Romney offer, other than a return to Bush economics? If one believes that this RICH guy (Romney) really cares about any of us who are less fortunate and can offer our country a four year fix, then they probably also believe that Mickey Mouse is human.
Any student of finance knows Bush has no power to spend money. It resides with congress....you know Obama, Biden, Casey, Reid, Pelosi......The clinton years were great?? Really Clinton added 40% to the national debt in his 8 years. Look it up. FACT.
Come on, explain for us all how Obama/Biden/Casey inherited this when they voted for it all? Show some proof. Any evidence. Point us to Bush's budget votes or where the Constitution authorizes the President to sign off on spending.
Explain this to us...Bush wasn't in office in 2010 right...spending and borrowing went up....HOLY CRAP....how is that possible??
• 2009 spending: $1.89 trillion
o $644 billion – Social Security
o $360 billion – Unemployment/Welfare/Other mandatory spending
o $408 billion – Medicare
o $224 billion – Medicaid
o $260 billion – Interest on National Debt
• 2010 spending: $2.173 trillion (+14.9%)
o $695 billion (+4.9%) – Social Security
o $571 billion (+58.6%) – Unemployment/Welfare/Other mandatory spending
o $453 billion (+6.6%) – Medicare
o $290 billion (+12.0%) – Medicaid
o $164 billion (+18.0%) – Interest on National Debt
Can't wait to see your response. It should be very simple to prove it was Bush's fault right??? Any student of finance would know where to look..............
David - apparently you are not educated enough to understand how the process works which I have posted. Neither Bush or Obama as President has any authority to spend money. They request budgets - both requested bad budgets over the last 4-8 years. Only congress can approve budgets. In 2007,08,09,10 Democrats controlled congress. They voted for the budgets. they own their votes and the budgets and are responsible for the outcomes. You want the easy way out because its convenient to blame Bush. Too bad, it's inaccurate. I didn't even need to ask. They were happy to see my GOP name badge and opened the door. Same warm welcome from most Independents. A few Dems were polite in front of their children.
No depth of understanding and no desire to dig beneath the media spin, to understand. I have posted in these threads youtube videos of Democrats cheering their battles won against House and Senate Republicans over financial legislation which precisely caused the crash and put us in the recession; Clinton himself admitting fault for starting it way way back, of Nancy Pelosi pushing through Obamacare without even knowing what it contains... yet these posts are wholly ignored. On the flip side, if you fail to open the links and respond with more of your factless crap, you lose any shred of respect I may have otherwise had for you and I will ignore every word you post ongoing, and you will change your vote. Ready?
Ah Jack, how about that little problem we had over in Iraq? Did Barney Frank and Pelusi instigate that. That and the the ruined economy were what was left for Obama.
David, newsflash buddy: George Bush is not running against Barack Obama.
Another newsflash: The Republican-led House and Democratic-led Senate by wide margins approved the resolution that Bush wanted to reinforce his demand that the U.N. Security Council threaten the use of force, if necessary, to enforce its requirements that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein abandon programs for biological, chemical or nuclear weapons.
"The Congress has spoken clearly to the international community and the United Nations Security Council," Bush said in a statement issued after the early-hours vote.
The House earlier Thursday passed the resolution 296-133 after three days of debate.
The Democratic-led Senate passed the war powers resolution, 77-23.
The Senate vote that capped a week of debate came after lawmakers explained the votes they intended to cast that could lead to war.
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, a South Dakota Democrat, helped give Bush the sizable win he sought by announcing he would support the resolution despite earlier reservations.
You, David Curran, are the Obama electorate. Scroll up to the comment above yours and take a stab at refuting. That I would find acceptable. But trying to crap on current Republican candidates by spinning and associating them with the past I find unacceptable, and silly.
I don't think the tragedy of Iraq is silly Jack. Romney was doing all kinds of saber rattling during the primaries. We both understand that he does have a propensity to change his positions. So who knows what Mitt we get this week. Saying that Russia is our biggest global threat? Dissing China now, not when he was making money of them. This guy is a total disgrace who is bereft of any moral rudder other than pandering to the audience he is trying to con. He would be worse than Bush- a lot worse.
These links only serve to prove my point. The debate is not about meaningless details regarding tweaks of a policy by one party or another. The problems are the policies. The problem is too much government. My political views have nothing to do with changing your vote anymore than yours do with changing mine. Our differences are of a fundamental nature. I write to show the absurdity in the belief that despite one hundred years of track record, most Americans still believe that the guys that broke the machine will fix it. The only candidates speaking of necessary, fundamental change are silenced, your rule 16 saw to that. All I can do is continue to provide an alternate point of view until I eventually become a victim of NDAA or the patriot act, as we all will in time.
The Washington Post published a story this evening headlined “Democrats in deep-blue Pa. voice confidence – and some nervousness.” A better title for the piece would have been, “Democrats in Pa voice nervousness – and some confidence,” the story focuses on the Democrat outlook in Pennsylvania – particularly the Philly suburbs – using Montgo as a barometer for the state.
“Having Romney come here, does it mean we are risk?” asked Allyson Schwartz, a Democratic congresswoman seeking her fifth term.
“I’m nervous,” said Shirley Currie, a longtime local Democratic leader. “Did you hear that new Romney radio ad? It’s good.”
Commissioner Josh Shapiro: “I really don’t think this race has changed that much,” he said. Citing Romney’s attempt to court moderates and independents, he said, “He has extreme positions on choice, and on gay marriage, and there is vast regional distaste for that here, including with moderate Republican women. I don’t see him catching fire in the suburbs, and if you don't catch fire here” in the four counties ringing Philadelphia, with their third of the total state vote, “you don’t win.”
Shapiro’s comments demonstrate he fundamentally doesn’t understand that this election is all about Obama’s failed economic policies vs Romney’s plan for economic growth, new jobs and renewed prosperity. We Republican leaders know Mitt Romney has caught “fire in the suburbs.” Remember Chick-fil-A? :-)
That's sweetly wishful thinking, but polls don't bear out anything that resembles a PA win for Romney outside a huge and unexpected upset. I'm on the suburban cusp of Philly and I have seen a grand total of 2 Romney signs and know zero people even considering a Romney vote. I'm sure the middle of the state will run red, but the Philly suburbs, outside of Bucks, are completely unlikely to swerve right. For all the hyperbole, this year has reflected nothing more than how un-bullshit-able the people in PA are.
We want middle class manufacturing jobs, accept that coal is a last-generation resource, understand the need for social platforms in our large cities, and want religious tolerance and individual freedom for everyone. The Tea Party platform just doesn't reflect even the most conservative ideals of PA - this is a bipartisan state that incorporates fiscally conservative spending, smart social projects, and Made-in-America manufacturing. I think we'd all welcome a real conservative party, as a check and balance to liberal spending, but the plutocratic religious fundamentalist Tea Party extreme has been rejected here - kindly take that platform somewhere else.
Looking beyond the pathetic lies and manipulations of his Jeep ad, Mitt Romney claims he will create 12 million jobs over the next four years. According to Moody's Analytics, it's going to happen no matter who is president for the next four years:
Take away all the issues. It's Romney's fundamental dishonesty, willingness to manipulate facts and assumption that American voters are just plain stupid that makes him unacceptable to hold the office.
All these fiscal fortune tellers and crystal ball pollsters like Nate Silver pushing their numbers for Obama, do not change the FACT that Obama himself said that by now, promising that implementing his policies, unemployment would be down to 5.2%.
But it's at 7.9%, Abraham. Pathetic lies and manipulation by Romney?
Romney won't waste time blaming his predecessor and won't pass partisan legislation which deepens these problems. Anything else is noise. Keep spinning, Abraham.
Abraham
Jack, Jack, Jack... "Romney won't waste time blaming his predecessor..." Romney and his Super PAC friends have built their entire campaign on blaming Obama.
Spent lots of time yesterday flipping between Fox and MSNBC watching the various appearances by the candidates. Obama's closing argument is 75-80% "here's what I've done and here's what I plan to do." Romney's speeches are 90% gloom and doom - "we may face another depression" - and blame Obama.
If Obama had received an ounce of cooperation from the Repubs in Congress, the country would be in much better shape. Remember what Mitch McConnell promised in January 2009... So sad that the Repubs have party and ideology as their priority over the best interest of the country.
Has Obama delivered on everything he promised? Of course not, but name a politician who has. At least President Obama is man enough to admit he has fallen short in some areas and made mistakes. You never hear that kind of honesty and humility coming from Romney, Bush, Boehner, Cantor or McConnell.
Both candidates have basically no change plans in store for us. There will be nothing done to help the economy grow by cutting real things like the FED, government branches, foreign aid, and bailouts. The only person advocating this is Gary Johnson! Voting anyone else will not do a dam thing.
Early voting results give Mitt Romney a boost as more Republicans turn out to cast their ballot
Over eight million Americans have already voted ahead of November 6th general election
Mitt Romney has improved on 2008 Republican figures for early votes cast
President Obama appears to have matched his showing from four years ago
Team Romney is not worried as the early voter lead for Obama is far less than it was for John McCain four years ago, knowing that voter turnout on Election Day will push Romney to a win.
Obama carried Ohio in 2008 by a 250K vote. Evangelicals in Cuyahoga County alone would push Romney to a win in Ohio.
