Thieves Target More Cars in Tredyffrin
All the cases appear to have one thing in common.
Tredyffrin Police are investigating several new cases of thefts from vehicle and attempted teft from a vehicle. In the first incident reports the cars are all reported unlocked.
In the second report it's unclear whether the vehicles were left unlocked or not but quick thinking by a neighbor may have made a difference.
The following police reports come from Tredyffrin Township Police:
THEFTS FROM VEHICLES
12/4/12 & 12/5/12 – In the developments of Chesterbrook and Daylesford Lakes, several unlocked vehicles were entered during the overnight hours and had items stolen. Items included iPods, laptops, GPS units, US currency and credit cards. The total value of the missing items is unknown at this time.
ATTEMPTED THEFT FROM VEHICLE
12/6/12 at 0320 hours – 100 block of Homestead Road in Wayne. Police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. The caller observed a subject dressed in all black clothing entering their neighbor’s vehicles. Upon arrival, officers checked the area but the actor was not located. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicles.

Duh! Why would you leave your car unlocked? If you do, you deserve to be robbed. Think just because it's parked in front of your home or in the driveway, it won't be broken into? Don't be stupid - always LOCK YOUR CAR!!!

I think you have every right to believe a car in your driveway won't be broken into....but that doesn't mean leave it unlocked. And for the record, locking it means NOTHING....have you ever had AAA or the police open your car for you. 3 seconds.
