For Dressage at Devon Charity: No 'Can't' - Only 'Cantor'
World class equestrian events at Devon benefit local riding organization that helps children and adults with therapeutic needs.
Dressage might be described in a phrase as "Horse Ballet". Dressage at Devon is an event that attracts the top riders and trainers from the U.S. and Europe.
Even with stables full of world class equestrians, the biggest winners could be the people who are served by Thorncroft Therapeutic Horseback Riding Inc. in Malvern. Thorncroft helps children and adults with physical challenges. Since 1991 Thorncroft has received more than 1 million dollars in support from the proceeds of Dressage at Devon.
Marybeth Hurley is a volunteer at Thorncroft who told Eyewitness News on the CW Philly that Throncroft volunteers, therapists and clients "don't know the word 'can't', we only know the word 'cantor!'"
Dressage at Devon tickets are $10 for general admission and free for children under $12. Reserved seating is $25 on Friday, $35 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday. General admission tickets are available at the gate. Reserved seating can be purchased on line at dressageatdevon.org.
