Shakespeare Comes to Berwyn With "Romeo and Juliet"
Footlighters Theater’s 2nd annual summer youth production—Romeo and Juliet—opens Friday August 3rd.
Shakespeare’s well-known star-crossed lovers are played by Macy Davis, a veteran of Footlighters, and Delaney Matthews, a newcomer to our stage.
The entire cast, ranging in age from 14 to 22, have devoted Sunday afternoons and two evenings a week this summer to rehearsals, and they’ve been having a blast.
Shakespeare is challenging for any actor, and this cast has been working hard on bringing his words to life. The show’s director (Kirk Paul) says, “It’s been a lot of fun sharing my knowledge of Shakespeare with a younger generation.” His assistant director (Lisa Bassett) and the other college-age cast members have also brought their own expertise to the production. Everyone is looking forward to putting on a great show.Come on out and enjoy some summer Shakespeare!
