Local High School Students Participate on State-wide Literary Magazine Staff
High school students Manasvi Ramanuham, Katherine Dautrich, and Annie Xu of Conestoga high School have been selected to work as staff members on The PALM, Pennsylvania’s first ever state-wide literary magazine, sponsored by the Pennsylvania School Press Association. Fewer than 20 students from across the state were chosen to work on the project, which is in its inaugural year.
The PALM, which stands for PA Literary Magazine, is a completely student-run literary magazine. Student staff members will score over 1,000 poems and short stories, written by fellow high school students, and produce a magazine to showcase the best-of-the-best of student works.
“The goal of The PALM is to encourage more students to express themselves through literary creativity,” said Theodore Caputi, editor of The PALM and senior at Council Rock High School North. We hope that our project will enhance the program of high school literary magazines across the state.”
Ramanujam, Dautrich, and Xu will be working on The PALM for the next few months. Publication of The PALM is set for early 2013.
